 Units / Units Types to avoid in compet play?

PostSubject: Units / Units Types to avoid in compet play?   Thu 2 Oct - 0:38

In shogun 2 you avoided bows, in empire you avoided melee cav so on so fourth which units are stupidly under powered and should be avoided unless you're playing "4 fun"?

thx in advance, also if relevant factions as well.

Some Ranged Units, like Skirmish Kav (the Greek type) have bad range and do little damage.
Usually it depends heavily on the style you play and your opponents army.
Best example are slingers: They are very effective against armoured troops, but get slaughtered by bows.

Off the top of my head, elite tier pikemen. there's a reason not a single one brings them nowadays Razz

But the Pikes can turn easier by now and in a combination they are actually worth their money. I used them on the flank one time and they actually killed a lot. Dunno if my opponent just failed at rushing though. Very Happy
